On April 24th, 2025, between 15:48 UTC and 06:50AM UTC Copilot service was unavailable in the European and Australian regions. This was due to a misconfigured background job intended to automatically remove invalid Copilot licenses.
We mitigated the incident by disabling the job and restoring the data to a known good state.
Moving forward, we are fully auditing our background jobs and working to increase logging robustness to reduce our time to mitigation of issues like this one in the future.
